Something quite unusual happened one day in a same-day surgery. The day has its fill of challenges to deal with, but when a patient came up to the floor announcing that he wanted to die, Jillian was there to console his soul while arranging for evaluations for a social worker and doctors to come and help this patient in despair. The patient stayed the full day, and Jillian kept a vigilant watch on him, offering comforting care and having coworkers help watch over him.

He was safely discharged home, and Jillian called him the next day to check in. Jillian's kind, compassionate care, as always, in dealing with this situation, saved a life that day in a very unexpected way for same-day surgery. She truly is such a kind, caring, compassionate nurse.
