On rough days, through tears, during good moments, and any other time when Jill was working, I truly felt supported and cared about.
Following my car accident in December 2023, Jill was an incredible support to myself and my family. Showing genuine compassion and care for my well-being, as well as making my and my family’s questions and concerns feel heard and answered. Jill’s main focus was always what was the absolute best for me and my well-being. We celebrated my small accomplishments while recovering after the accident and also after my pretty intense surgery. Jill also was so great at maintaining dignity and privacy at the bedside when I could not take care of personal hygiene independently. On rough days, through tears, during good moments, and any other time when Jill was working, I truly felt supported and cared about.
I ended up needing another surgery 4.5 months after the first one, this included another admission to 5A where I was so grateful to see Jill once again. Just like before, last December, Jill has continued to make me feel so very heard and cared about, and as always, she has maintained my dignity, shown so much empathy, and been a leading light for me as I personally want to be a Pediatric nurse in the future. Jill is exactly who I want to be down the road when I get there.
Jill has truly been such a positive person to have alongside me during these times and will be someone I remember forever, even after I age out of SickKids in a year. Thank you, Jill, for making me feel prioritized, cared about, and encouraging me to keep trying on the days I truly felt like giving up. On the nights I went to bed dreading the next morning, it was so relieving to see Jill. Endless thanks.
