Though my wife and I felt we had many great nurses in our 3 weeks of NICU time, Jillian took the cake. Her knowledge was something we leaned on heavily in the first week of our babies' lives, because the thought of knowing we'd be leaving our newborn twins at the hospital scared us quite a bit. Luckily for us, Jillian came into the picture a day or two before we were due to be dismissed and put many of our fears at ease!
Her caring nature was something that made her such a natural in her role as a NICU nurse. You can tell there is something special about her after about 30 seconds into a conversation; her warm smile and laugh, positive and upbeat attitude, and most importantly her level of nurturing care left my wife and I feeling our babies were in safe hands and was an immense load off our shoulders. She often stayed past her shift for a few minutes just to wrap up conversation and ensure the next nurse was fully up to speed with our babies' situations. She gave us the warm fuzzy we needed to get through the tough 3 weeks of having our twins in the NICU and I can't thank her enough. We loved having her as a NICU nurse and hope she can be a vessel to raise up the nurses in her sphere of influence!
