Jillian Weiser, RN

We came in 24 hours after water break and my wife was stressed and emotional as contractions had not started. As a nurse herself, it was incredibly difficult for her to feel as though she did not have control. This was our second child and the first was very straightforward. This birth was not going the way we had hoped/expected. Jillian recognized the stress on my wife's face, and she was incredible in handling the entire labor. She was patient with us in formulating a birth plan that allowed us to progress labor but not feel like anything was being forced upon us. My wife was adamant in her desire not to take Pitocin or be induced. Jillian was kind and understanding in helping my wife navigate through her desires and handle her pain. While she did end up needing Pitocin, Jillian was great in helping to keep it minimal to respect my wife's wishes. Jillian ended up having to deliver the baby herself without the midwife, and she handled it like a pro. We could go on and on about Jillian. She took what started as a stressful labor and helped make it as good as possible under the circumstances. Jillian is a saint and an asset to the hospital.
