Jim, we want to take a pause at this momentous occasion to congratulate you on this well-deserved award. It is truly fitting that you are recognized with The DAISY Lifetime Achievement Award, as we would not be here today celebrating the inaugural Kaiser Permanente-CCEP (Caritas Coach Education Program) graduating class without your vision and steadfast dedication to Caring Science in our organization. Your tireless championship to integrate Caring Science into our nursing practice and beyond as a student of Dr. Jean Watson speaks volumes to the incomparable leader we all know you to be.
You, Jim, have left a lasting legacy on our organization that lives on through all of us. Thank you for lighting the way for how to lead with compassion, gratitude, grace, courage, and care to make a difference in healthcare for all. We have yet to know the true breadth of your legacy, but we know the impact will be transcendent of the darkness in today’s healthcare system!
