Her patients immediately know they are in competent hands. She gets many accolades from our patients. Her warmth is genuine.
Jinhee Jeoung has been a major mover and shaker in our outpatient infusion center, and I want the world to know!
Clinical Skills
Jinhee has mad IV skills. She is our go-to for any difficult IV start. When we come to her, with our tails between our legs, because we have missed twice, she very graciously comes to the rescue. 99.9% of the time she is successful. She is also a well-seasoned nurse with great assessment skills. She is certified in Med-Surg nursing, and this background helps our patients that are recent hospital discharges with lots of questions. She is now looking to certify in Oncology Nursing (OCN) or Infusion Nursing (CRNI) to add to her knowledge base for our particular patient population.
Compassionate Care
Jinhee greets each patient with a smile (you can hear it behind the mask!) and a calm, confident approach. Her patients immediately know they are in competent hands. She gets many accolades from our patients. Her warmth is genuine.
Exemplary Service
Jinhee volunteers at ARCHES where she helps feed the homeless people downtown. She brings food and helps serve these people, spreading goodwill with every helping. She also volunteered in the COVID clinic, giving vaccines to people that lined up at the fairgrounds in the early days. She has been the recipient of the APEX Award numerous years, which documents her commitment to her community and workplace. She was awarded the STOP THE LINE star award which is an acknowledgment of her reporting an unsafe event and making sure it never happens again.
Continued Commitment
Jinhee is passionate about improving our clinic to benefit our patients and staff. She took on the momentous task of getting rid of all the paper charts and provider orders. This meant prying the paper from the death grip of the hardheaded Boomer nurses (which is half the staff) and getting us all on board. Convincing us it was not only possible but to our benefit was a huge task and met with a good amount of resistance. Jinhee kept on all of us, every day, in her kind, gentle and persistent way and made it happen! This has made our clinic a safer and more efficient place. She also has tons of EPIC charting hacks she shares with us that make our lives easier when charting.
If all the above accolades are not enough, Jinhee is working on her nurse practitioner degree AND raising two teenage girls. I’m not sure which endeavor is more daunting!
I hope this nomination captures the essence of how wonderful and amazing Jinhee is. Her co-workers are all so appreciative and inspired by her progressive visions and love of nursing.
