Jisha Jose has been working at Anne Young ward for 18 years. Her kindness and caring nature was evident from the moment I met her, both towards her staff and patients alike. I joined the ward as a staff nurse in September and Jisha showed me the ropes, managing 20 something nurses on her own as CNM II whilst awaiting a CNM I to come and help. She never showed stress or concern, acted as everything was perfect and as it should be, although I’m sure there were many things she needed help with, she seemed so in control. Jisha’s guidance and assistance towards myself and the other new grad nurses during our first few months has been exactly what we have needed and we have been so fortunate to have had her as our manager until now. The devastation shown by all members of staff following Jisha’s announcement that she is leaving St James’ emphasizes how valuable she is in Anne Young, and how deeply she will be missed by each and every one of us. Her compassion towards patients and families is admirable. Jisha’s professionalism and managerial skills are going to be hard for another manager to come in and follow but we wish her best in her future career and can only thank her for what she has taught us, and left behind in Anne Young.
