My daughter had bariatric surgery. After surgery, she had severe nausea, pain, apnea and a rash on her upper chest. The PACU nurse let me come back and be with her for a bit. My daughter was crying and wanted me to stay with her. This is the first time she had surgery, and I couldn’t stay with her. I left crying and worried about how she would do. I called the floor and spoke to Jiwon. He updated me on her condition, went over the plan, and was actually walking the unit with my daughter during our call. He even relayed she said, “Hi”. During that conversation Jiwon made me feel my daughter was in good, caring, compassionate, and competent hands. Jiwon’s passion for nursing care is something I’m grateful to have experienced. As a mom, I can’t thank him enough for relieving my worries about my daughter and her care.
