They kept morale up through the long nights and on weekends. They formed an extraordinary team.
I would like to commend the nursing supervisors who worked tirelessly during the night to manage our unprecedented patient volumes. They displayed strong leadership by frequent rounding to where they had a higher nurse:patient ratio than we would have liked. They checked on nurses individually to see if there was anything they needed. They also volunteered to assist with the transport of patients from the ER to their rooms. The other supervisors managed the other areas of the house. The work they did during Covid to keep our staff and patients safe was indescribable. They displayed courage, resilience, and never once lost their sense of humor. In those early days, when we were unsure if we would make it, they kept morale up through the long nights and on weekends. They formed an extraordinary team.
