On her own initiative, Jo-Ann collected my records from 30 years in the Army and community sources before this appointment
She was incredibly thorough in determining which vaccines I should take when. This is a significant issue with me, as I had been told over 22 years ago - after getting GBS with rapid paralysis while 8 months pregnant - to be wary of all vaccines. Not until I was assigned in a Navy command in 2007 was that limitation expanded to allow me to take vaccinations that are inactivated. Now under the care of an infectious disease doc, I am gradually adding back the live vaccines slowly! On her own initiative, Jo-Ann collected my records from 30 years in the Army and community sources before this appointment, and we have a plan now moving forward to accurately record all! This also helped my veteran husband, George J Holland III, who is recovering from a stem cell transplant following Leukemia and is quite immunocompromised. She went well beyond the call, and this was my first time meeting her. Everyone in this office has been exceptional! My PCM also is superb- she is complimented everywhere I go in our large Boston Metropolitan area of VA facilities! Many areas do not always prioritize care for female veterans. This facility is the best for women veterans that I have experienced in the 11 years since I retired after 30 years of service.
