Jo Ann is a DAISY Nurse because of her clinical expertise and caring and compassionate attitude. During my nurse leader rounding, a stroke patient who was having difficulty talking managed to say, "My nurse today is amazing and needs an award. Yesterday, she cleaned me and shampooed my hair and I felt really good. I then remembered that she is the same Nurse Jo Ann who take care of my sister in 2013. My sister was dying and Jo Ann always made her feel good by cleaning her, shampooing her hair and my sister always said she felt happy and cared for. My sister eventually died here in this ICU, but she died with dignity and feeling good because Jo Ann always ensured that she was looking good. Jo Ann did the same thing for my mother whom she also cared for. Jo Ann gave the same level of caring attitude. We would talk about Country fried chicken because that's the family's favorite and also Jo Ann's. I am grateful that she is my nurse, and I am grateful to her for all she did for our family. Jo Ann is a strong critical care nurse. She is capable of taking care of any patient assigned to her. Jo Ann is a true DAISY Nurse.
