I value Jo as someone I can learn from and admire her knowledge.
I have worked at the VA now almost 2 years. I have worked under Jo since the time I started at the VA. I cannot say enough about how organized she keeps our team. I feel it starts with the nurse than with the AMSAs. She is very thorough with making sure appropriate records. RFS if needed and signatures of documents prior to approving consults. She will contact the vendor and or patient if needed. It says a lot about who she is and how she is as a nurse.
I feel she goes above and beyond for our team and veterans. I am still new, and learn something new every day. I can ask her anything at any time. She responds in a timely manner, never makes me feel like she doesn't have time, or that I burden her with questions. If a consult comes in that needs scheduled, she will put appt information on the consult if she has it. Anything to help us AMSAs she is always willing to help. I feel our team is very successful and I believe it starts with her. She is exceptional at what she does, and I appreciate her very much. I have gained so much knowledge from her since I have been with the VA.
I had a consult and the path report was back in 2017 - instead of me searching for it since she had to confirm we had it, she messaged me and let me know what date it was done. That is huge when it comes to searching and needing records to send to vendors. If a vendor or patient calls and needs to know if we received records/documents/RFS/etc, she has folders organized that I can go in, look and know right away if we do or do not have the information.
I would like to thank her, let her know how much I appreciate her and value her as someone I can learn from, and admire her knowledge. I look forward to learning much more from her year to come. She has the best interest of our veterans and thoroughly makes sure everything we need is received and works to get consults pushed through.
