Jo is a very caring, compassionate, loyal, and trustworthy nurse. She always works hard for her team and her patients. Jo always advocates for what is best and what is right for her patients, no matter how much time it takes. Recently, Jo showed exactly these characteristics. We performed a diagnostic procedure on an outpatient in the Cath Lab. The patient was referred for surgery in Indianapolis to be performed the next day. The receiving physician's office called our department at 5 p.m. and said they were not able to view the images electronically. These images were of vital need prior to surgery. Jo burned the images onto a CD and drove to Indianapolis to the physician's office and hand delivered the images to ensure the surgery would not be delayed. She did this without being asked or prompted. She simply said she wanted to do what was best for the patient.
