Joan, with her 30 years of nursing experience, always reminds me of a modern-day Nightingale or a nursing "saint." Her patient on night shift was a 20-something year old female with Hodgkin's lymphoma. Joan, as she consistently does, extended herself to be available emotionally and empathetically, obtaining and explaining every procedure and utilizing caring hands. Her kind words and concern for that patient touches my heart. I see Joan being so caring for all her patients.
