Joan went out of her way to make me physically and emotionally comfortable after my emergency surgery. She took the time to explain medical information to me and my family in layman's terms and was an amazing liaison between doctors, nurses and myself. She took initiative and followed through, all in a supportive manner. Joan made me feel human and not like a random case file.
