Joan is a Patient Care Tech in PCU that cared for a patient in Heart Hospital Rm. 319 extraordinarily. This patient had been in the hospital over 6 weeks following several complications from open heart surgery from which he became frustrated and depressed. Joan took it upon herself to give the patient a "spa day" and give him a haircut. Joan used her own equipment for this and the patient could not have been more appreciative. Immediately, his attitude and demeanor were changed for the better; overall, getting him more active and ready for discharge.
