Joan was incredible from start to finish, not only helping my wife with postpartum care but also sitting with us and patiently walking us through every step of early care. Whenever we needed help with swaddling or breastfeeding, she stayed as long as it took despite caring for four other patients. Most notably, when we were about to be discharged, and my wife was in severe pain, struggling to pass her first stool, Joan chose a compassionate approach. While others suggested breaking it up manually, she administered an enema and then gently massaged for more than 30 minutes until my wife found relief. Throughout, Joan remained cheerful and determined to ease her pain and help her recover. Without her, we likely would have left before the stool passed and ended up in the ER. She is truly exceptional.
