December 2012 Honoree
joan williams, RN, BSN, RNC
Joan was the nurse for a family who adopted a baby; they felt she was attentive and personable. It was evident, they felt, that she puts her heart and soul into her work.
Another family reported they were impressed with Joan's knowledge and did lots of extra things above and beyond for their baby. They stated "She seemed like a friend we had known for a long time besides her wonderful nursing skills.
Joan ended up being the reason for a turning point in a patient's care. She took the time to ensure the patient and her family were informed of the progress she was making and when conflict arose within family members, she listened to their requests and the patient's and carried them out, in spite of how the family was reacting to her. She seemed to always go above and beyond in her dealings with the family.

Thank you, Joan, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
