This is Joann's second DAISY Award!
We frequently care for a very ill young woman here at our inpatient nursing rehab center. On one of her recent admissions, the patient told Joann that she must be discharged home by a certain date because she had tickets to see her favorite artist, Bon Jovi. There was a good chance that the patient would not be going home by this date. Joann knew someone who had a connection to Bon Jovi and the current tour so she arranged for the patient to receive an autographed photo of Bon Jovi, a tour program, a Bon Jovi bag, and other tour merchandise. The patient was overwhelmed and used these items as motivation to be discharged in time to go to the concert. The patient was discharged home the morning of the concert and I am sure she enjoyed herself.
