I was in the patient’s room trying to calm a patient and promote safety (patient on VPO). Joann walked by the room and the patient noticed her and called her out by name. The patient remembered something from the past – something that visibly upset him. Joann told him to take deep breaths and prayed with and over him. The patient immediately calmed down. The two talked about Jesus and Joann comforted him by telling him to believe and trust Jesus. It was so heartwarming to see this connection. She took time out of her day to comfort and be present and pray with this patient not under her care. I am so happy to have been witness to this.
