My son was born, and Joanna was our nurse from the very beginning and made our experience so beyond amazing! After having my daughter eight years ago I was so nervous about having my son as my first experience was not very pleasant. But she was so caring, so attentive, she did everything she could to make me so comfortable. She checked on me at least every 15 minutes it seemed like.
When I arrived at noon Joanna promised she would be delivering my son before her shift ended at 7:00 pm as she knew I was dreading having a long delivery. She went above and beyond the entire afternoon to keep her promise; another patient had an emergency in the next room so around 7:00 pm they were busy helping deliver another baby.
Joanna came in at around 7:20 pm and said she was staying late for her shift because she had to deliver my baby before she left before I knew it he was born around 7:45 pm. He ended up getting his shoulder stuck and the emergency button alerted the other staff to come in for help; Joanna instantly jumped in as she just knew immediately what to do. She went so beyond my expectations and I am so grateful for her being the kind soft spirit she is.
After our stay and we arrived home my husband said, "Man I wish we could have stayed just a few more nights in the hospital; it felt like we were at a hotel."
