I am writing to nominate Joanna Pemberton for her exceptional care and support during my battle with stage 4 blood cancer over the past seven months. Jo has been an unwavering source of strength, compassion, and expertise throughout this challenging journey. From the moment I was diagnosed, Jo went above and beyond to ensure that I received the best possible care, both physically and emotionally. Her dedication to my well-being was evident in every interaction we had. Whether it was administering treatments, monitoring my progress, or simply lending a listening ear, Jo always approached her duties with professionalism and empathy. What sets Jo apart is her ability to not only address my medical needs but also provide unwavering emotional support. Her genuine concern for my well-being extended beyond the confines of the hospital room, making me feel valued and cared for as a person, not just a patient. Especially for a young woman like myself who comes from a troubled background, to feel loved and cared for during a dark time is rare. Jo made sure to make me feel cared for. In addition to her exceptional clinical skills, Jo possesses a rare gift for lifting spirits and instilling hope. Her positive attitude and reassuring presence helped me navigate some of the darkest moments of my illness, giving me the strength and courage to persevere. It is through experiences like these that I am reminded of the incredible difference Jo has made in my life, not just as a nurse, but as a compassionate healer and friend. Her empathy and unwavering support have touched my life in ways that words cannot fully express, and I am eternally grateful for her presence in my life.
