Joanna stood out! She would always go above and beyond to be sure I was comfortable. She frequently asked what I needed and if I was in pain. While she was doing her job, she spent time visiting. She was doing more than her job. She made me feel like she wasn't rushing in and out. It felt like she did more than tend to my physical needs. She made me relax. She let me know when she arrived or was leaving her shift, and when she would be back. Her demeanor made me trust her and know I was in good hands. Joanna would make a great mentor for nurses in training. She could teach them about the importance of human interaction. If anyone should get the DAISY Award, it is Joanna.
