October 2015 Honoree
joanne azevedo cook, RN
Joanne cares for many of our sickest patients.
On a recent patient with complicated critical needs she performed with expertise, calm, and compassion. Despite the monitoring and the extreme measures being done at the bedside - she took time to tend to the fragile family members.
At one point the patient's daughter (who was in nursing school) was standing at the bedside with her mother overwhelmed with all of the care that their father/husband was receiving. After one of the encounters with Joanne, the mother turned to the daughter and said "This is how I hope you practice and treat people when you become a nurse."

Thank you, Joanne, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
