Joanne F Carelli, BSN, CNOR

Awarded Lifetime Achievement award honoring 45 years as a Nurse. These years were all spent in the CVOR, starting as a circulating Nurse in 1978. During these years, she also scrubbed, first assisted, precepted, and finally managed this department (as well as CVICU, General Surgery, and CV Stepdown at different times). For the last 20 years, she has served on multiple committees in the hospital, helping to maintain the quality of the program and accruing years of STS 3-star ratings. In the 1990s, she was a member of the Naval Reserve Nurse Corps, which was activated in support of Desert Storm.
