I transferred to BJC from an out-of-state facility. I am immunocompromised and was facing orbital cellulitis and infections in my sinuses and eye. Due to Chrugg-Strauss syndrome, I can't fight infections on my own. I usually need IV antibiotics over an unusual amount of time. I was due to be sent home after 7 days in the hospital with a PICC line and at home antibiotics. Joanne worked so hard for me, setting up home health, home infusions, and appointments with doctors both here at BJC and at the other facility. She kept me informed at every step of the way. She asked me questions and made sure I was comfortable with everything that happened. She called in to talk to me on HER DAY OFF to make sure that everything was going well. That is amazing. She made my very complicated transition back home very easy for me. She worked hard for me, and I absolutely could tell. I feel like Joanne takes a personal interest in her patients. She made me feel so very well taken care of.
