JoAnne intervened on the behalf of elderly, non-English speaking woman at end of life with advanced cancer during triage in ED. She encouraged MDs to consult with palliative care team & family to initiate hospice care rather than aggressive hospital care in accordance with patient & family's wishes. Pt went home with hospice support and a plan of care in process for her final days.
