Joanne went way beyond for us and was very patient and loving with my Dad and always explained in detail things that were done with my Dad.
Joanne is not only an amazing nurse, but she is a great loving compassionate person. My father was admitted to the ICU for several chronic conditions; one was a failing heart. He was first admitted to the CCU needing a quadruple bypass but was told with his conditions he may not make it through surgery. Dr. n had some options for my Dad, and that is when Joanne was assigned to my Dad. She always made sure to give me updates, take pictures, and do video calls so my family and I could see and talk to my Dad. My Dad and Dr. N decided to do a procedure called Rotablator to help clean his blockage and hopefully give my Dad some time in life. It was a 50/50 chance of survival, and with those kinds of odds, we needed to see my Dad just in case God decided to take him.
My Mom was a mess, as we all were. The day before surgery, Joanne arranged for my Mom and me to come to visit. We got to see and hug my Dad, it was such an amazing sense of relief to hug my Dad before his surgery, knowing that he may not make it through. Joanne even arranged for the Chaplin to come and say a prayer with my Dad while we were with him. The videos I have of his visit and my parents hugging each other, in tears, is priceless. Joanne went way beyond for us and was very patient and loving with my Dad and always explained in detail things that were done with my Dad. She always texted me to tell me how my Dad was each day, even if she was not in that unit that day. She is so amazing and thoughtful and my family will never forget her compassion for us and my Dad. Thanks to her, my Dad was at ease during this scary time and he is still here today.
