Jo is a fantastic nurse, an inspirational leader, and is the back bone to our ward and the service we provide.
Jo goes above and beyond for not only the patients and their families, but she also goes above and beyond for us as a team. She supports us through staff sickness and regularly steps in to work clinically when we are short. She doesn't have to do this as she has so much of her own work to do, but she will not see the team struggle. She is attentive to our needs and keeps both staff and patients informed. Her kindness and compassion doesn't go unnoticed, with staff having regular feedback from families of the excellent job she does of running the ward. She supports us all in our continued professional development, always pushing us to apply for conferences, study days and new opportunities, as she always wants everyone to achieve their best.
Despite the continuous pressures of being a ward sister, she never lets her stresses be known to anyone. She constantly provides support for complex patients and families and not only advocates for the patients and their families, she advocates for all her team too. Jo is a fantastic nurse, an inspirational leader, and is the back bone to our ward and the service we provide. She is supportive beyond measure. Jo is an excellent example of a ward sister. We are the nurses we are today because of her.
