Jocelyn was so kind and encouraging. She told me what to do, gave me her hand, and walked me through it.
Her kindness, willingness to listen to my needs and she was so patient! Her presence in the room is so calm and comforting. She knows what she is doing and the care she provides is what ALL nurses and hospital staff should provide! Jocelyn is by far one of the most astounding nurses I have ever met. UVMMC NEEDS more nurses/staff like her!
I had a planned C-Section and that night I was told by Jocelyn I would be getting up out of bed. I was terrified to do this, because of the pain and I honestly had no idea how I could even get out of bed the same day as the section! Jocelyn was so kind and encouraging. She told me what to do, gave me her hand, and walked me through it. Although I was only was able to sit on the side of the bed, she didn't make me feel bad or anything of the sort because I was in tears and just couldn't get up. She told me we would try again later. I attempted a couple of hours later, and with the help and encouragement of Jocelyn, I got up and walked to the bathroom. As painful as it was to walk every couple of hours, Jocelyn is the reason why I was determined to get up and move to help the healing process.
The 3 nights I stayed on the mother-baby unit, I looked forward to the night shift change when Jocelyn would come on! Because I know I would be in the best of hands. She listens to my questions, she helps. She has a way to calm any worry or concern, but also encourages me to ask for anything I may need, without feeling guilty or bothersome. On the day that I was going to be discharged, and the shift change was happening, I did feel a whole lot of sadness, but lots of thankfulness for all of Jocelyn's care. I would like and truly hope that any of her bosses/fellow co-workers know that they have an absolutely outstanding member of their nursing staff. Thank you Jocelyn for taking amazing care of me and my baby girl while we were there.
