My father experienced a sudden episode of severe chest pain during my visit in the morning. The nurse on duty responded immediately and professionally. She contacted the surgical team without delay and clearly communicated my father’s condition to the doctor. She promptly initiated urgent care measures, including starting a nitroglycerin infusion after the doctor's order, performing an ECG, checking his blood pressure, and administering sublingual nitroglycerin. Throughout this critical time, she demonstrated excellent clinical skills, quick decision-making, and strong communication. Despite my father being in significant pain and distress, she remained calm, attentive, and compassionate. She assisted him when he needed to go to the bathroom, ensured all necessary preparations were completed, and coordinated efficiently with the operating room team. All of this was done within a very short time frame, and her organized, holistic approach greatly contributed to stabilizing my father’s condition. Within about an hour, he was resting comfortably and improving. Her professionalism, dedication, and kindness made a very stressful situation much easier for our family.
