I am honored to nominate Jodi Lord, a nurse who consistently demonstrates unparalleled compassion, care and knowledge in her role as infusion nurse at Rochester General’s Lipson Cancer Center. Jodi embodies the spirit of the DAISY award, providing not only exceptional clinical care but she supports the patient and family as a whole ensuring their emotional wellness is taken care throughout their sometimes very lengthy treatments. 
Jodi has a unique ability to connect with patients on a personal level. Whether it’s using her “puzzle solving skills” to rearrange intricate schedules to accommodate patient’s needs, providing bird watching tips, making books recommendations, having difficult conversations, or going out of her way to provide a patient’s favorite snack she consistently goes above and beyond to ensure that the patients and families feel heard, respected and supported throughout their care.
In addition to Jodi’s compassionate care, she is an exceptional clinician with a deep understanding of the care our very complex hematology/oncology patients require. Jodi is always proactive in seeking out the latest and most up to date treatment plans and consistently shares this knowledge with the team. Her critical thinking skills, patient advocacy, and clinical expertise have directly improved patient outcomes and made a significant impact on the overall quality of care provided in the infusion room. 
Jodi is a constant source of support not only to the patients, but the staff as well. She is a strong leader and a vital resource to both new and experienced nurses. Jodi leads by example and promotes a team oriented environment where everyone feels valued and supported. 
Jodi’s compassion, knowledge, and unwavering commitment to patient care make her more than deserving of a DAISY award nomination. It has been my privilege to have worked alongside such a dedicated and caring nurse for the past twenty years.
