Jodi came and saw us in the hospital the next day, and we thanked her over and over again.
Where do I even begin! Jodi was one of our first nurses after my C-section. She was so approachable and kind right away, making us feel at ease as first-time parents. When her shift was over, I asked, "Will you be here tomorrow?" and she said no because she wasn't working again until Sunday. Well, our baby had to stay an extra night because of her blood sugar, so we did see her again, and she was our nurse! And thank heavens she was.

As we were being discharged, she shared with me that she was pushing for a one-week checkup because she could see my BP slightly increasing. It wasn't in the danger zone yet, but the fact that it was rising made her nervous. So, we have a checkup one week later, and I'm feeling great, no concerns. My BP reads 174/90, and after three readings, it was increasing. We immediately went over to L&D triage, where I was quickly admitted for postpartum preeclampsia - at one point, my BP was 190/100. And I felt completely normal, no headaches or blurred vision. Jodi came and saw us in the hospital the next day, and we thanked her over and over again. If it hadn't been for her close attention to detail and the push for a one-week checkup, who knows what would have happened?
