We were scheduled for an induction for the delivery of our baby and had absolutely no idea what to expect. A was our first baby, and we'd heard all the stories from friends - stories of difficulties, stories of challenge, and stories of busy nurses. We were obviously nervous and just wanted to get to the point of a happy and healthy baby. As soon as we arrived at the hospital, we met Jodi and were instantly comforted by her confidence, and more importantly, her kindness. To be completely honest, we had a relatively stressful delivery, and Jodi was there every step of the way to help us through it - both medically, and as a human being, someone who truly cared. As Baby A and I were having some challenges (heart rates and blood pressure going all over the place), Jodi always took the time to explain what was happening, what the progress was, and where things would likely go next. She had a way of just bringing calm. Another example of this was while I was getting my epidural, which unfortunately took almost an hour due to some challenges, Jodi helped me throughout it all, encouraged me that all was going great, and truly set me up for success. We always felt like we were her top priority, even though she was busy with lots of patients. Jodi was a huge part of what made a very stressful experience a very great experience, and I'm so thankful that my daughter could be brought into the world with the help of someone who cared so much.
