Jodi Wegner, RN
There was an overdose patient and staff found the teenage son standing outside in the cold of winter crying. Jodi and K brought the son into the department and sat with him for 2 hours. Jodi went down to the cafeteria and bought the boy an assortment of food with her own money. Jodi was able to make a connection with the boy and even got him to smile at the end. Jodi went above and beyond to try to locate a safe place for this boy to go and tried to look up the uncle on Facebook and locate his house with the boy via google maps. Jodi also advocated to CPS for this boy to try to get them to come out and assess (this is not easy!) When the boy went into the patient’s room, he would come out and look for Jodi to talk. Jodi also got the boy a computer to play on while he waited. Jodi went above and beyond for a family member that wasn’t even her patient.
