Jodie Bisogno is the Director of the Heart Hospital at downtown Jax. Recently a patient was life flighted from Baptist Beaches to the Jax Heart Hospital. During the urgency of the transfer, they overlooked the patient’s belongings and his phone. The patient was exceptionally worried as he needed to contact his family to arrange childcare ASAP but didn't know any of their phone numbers without his cell phone. Once he arrived downtown and Jodie learned of this, she instantly dropped everything she was doing and drove to Beaches personally to retrieve his items and his phone so he may reach out to his loved ones to help with his child.

In my 20 years of healthcare, I have never seen a director drop what they are doing and go so far out of their way like this. She endlessly shows us every day what it means to be a nurse and a leader. Jodie is always going out of her way to not only make sure our patients obtain the best care that Baptist has to offer, but she also is always taking exceptional care of her team and treats everyone like family or a friend.
