I have known Jodie since she was a student, both as CVT and RN. She has defied all odds for becoming an RN and I am so grateful for this. She demonstrates daily her compassion and highly trained skill. She can care for the most complex patient in our departments. We have subspecialties in three areas. We have experts in each area. Jodie is one of the few who has become an expert in every area. When there is a new opportunity or complex procedure, Jodie is the first to become a superuser or expert. She quietly goes about her day, never complaining, never backing down from a challenging case. She is first in line to precept and does an amazing job.
She is very active in AACN doing all the busy behind the scenes work to enable us to get CEU's, again never complaining.
On a personal level, she makes beautiful hand crochet/knit hats, mittens and /or blankets for all the new babies in our department. Never accepting cash or repayment. She was a volunteer for our 'Adopt a Family' this past Christmas; collecting the money and shopping in the cold for our 'family'.
She gives freely of her time and talents! I hope that if I ever need a cardiovascular RN for myself or family that Jodie is my nurse. She lives our core values everyday Knowing the Way and Caring like Crazy!
