Jodie was our nurse the day we were informed that our son had kidney damage. We were surprised by this information. We were even more so shocked when nephrology let on that our son could be on dialysis in a matter of months. Within moments of being in the room to check on our son, Jodie sensed a complete change in our attitude. She asked us what happened. After hearing us explain what we got out of the conversation with the doctors, she went above and beyond to have nephrology come back to our room to clarify the information we had misinterpreted. Jodie stayed the entire time nephrology spoke with us. She explained the whole situation in layman's terms. We are so thankful that she helped us understand all the new information we received.
She also went out of her way to celebrate my birthday. Due to my son's surgery, we missed celebrating. She brought me a balloon and a coloring book for my son.
Jodie has a sunny disposition. She anticipated our needs, by bringing us everything we could need before we had time to realize we needed it. She is one of the best nurses I've ever had, which says a lot because I've had 3 children, a surgery of my own and 2 hospital stays with my son. Thanks for everything Mrs. Jodie.
