Jody Carr, BSN RN CCM

I would like to nominate Jody Carr, BSN, RN, CCM, for the DAISY Award in recognition of her extraordinary compassion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to patient-centered care.
Jody demonstrates excellence every day she comes to work. She consistently goes above and beyond to ensure every patient has what they need for a safe and successful discharge. Her level of commitment, compassion, and reliability sets a remarkable standard for our care team. Jody does not simply meet expectations—she exceeds them in every way.
One example that truly reflects her character involved a patient whose grandmother had recently been granted custody. This caregiver suddenly found herself responsible for navigating the patient’s medical and daily needs without adequate resources. When Jody learned that the grandmother lacked a stroller appropriate for the child’s medical condition, she took it upon herself to personally purchase a stroller for the family. Her generosity not only met a vital need, but also helped the grandmother feel confident, supported, and prepared to care for her grandson.
Jody’s kindness extends far beyond isolated acts. She frequently walks visitors to their destinations so they never feel lost or alone. She assists her units by picking up discharge medications when needed, and she is known for responding immediately whenever staff reaches out for help. Jody is a strong advocate for her patients, ensuring they have the education, resources, and support necessary for a smooth transition home.
Her actions reflect exceptional teamwork, empathy, and an authentic passion for making a difference. Jody is an invaluable member of our care team. Her daily dedication improves the patient experience, supports her colleagues, and strengthens our entire organization.
