When I think of the meaning and definition of nurse, I think of Jody! From the beginning of my mom’s treatment, Jody has practiced holistic care encompassing all my mom is experiencing with her new illness. When my mom sees her, her mood and spirit lights up. It’s almost as if she has forgotten she is at the cancer clinic! The energy Jody possesses will make the saddest person's heart smile. I have seen her with other patients in the waiting room singing, dancing, and smiling! My family is always excited to see her! Each infusion session my mom has, Jody completes my mom’s checklist of what matters to her. Jody provides care and healing spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically. She goes above and beyond every time. I can tell she genuinely cares about my mother, and is passionate about her job. As a nurse myself, I have been wowed with her, and if I ever get in a situation where I need a nurse, I pray I receive care from a superhero like Jody!
