Theshiningstar was JodyGeuther. She was the nurse assigned to my mother the day she died. She never complained about the abundance of family members that kept showing up and even asked staff to bring us extra chairs. When a cart was brought up with coffee, tea, water, fruit, and snacks, we were totally blown away. She treated my mother with the utmost dignity and referred to her by name even when she had passed, moving her ever so gently.
My brothers are not as comfortable in this situation and she encouraged them to hold her and be as close as they wanted. When my youngest brother asked if they minded if we said a prayer, both Jody and the nurse assisting her respectfully joined in. Jody called me later in the day to assure me that the mortuary had been notified and explained the next steps. While all of the seems routine, we all know that it doesn't always happen this way. Thank you. The most crucial thing that I want to communicate on behalf of my entire family is to thank your staff for making my mother's "home-going" a peaceful experience.
