We were overwhelmed by what a caring and compassionate nurse Jody Newell was to our son C. He is only 2 ½ years old and is a new patient here. He was very scared and apprehensive when he went in for his first MRI. Jody did everything to alleviate his fears. He made a game of checking C’s vitals (which C loved) and when the wait was longer than expected and C started to get agitated, Jody took out a pen and drew a funny face on the bed sheet. He then let C have the pen and some markers and the two of them colored on the face. My son was laughing and having fun while waiting for his MRI. As a parent, that was such a wonderful relief.

Jody thoroughly explained to us what was going to happen and even phoned us half way through just to say things were going well and that they had 45 minutes left. Once the procedure was over and we were brought back to the recovery room, Jody was so kind and considerate and made us all feel so at ease.

He has a very kind and loving manner and has a true gift in working with kids. I can’t imagine a better nurse for a child going through something like this. We can’t thank him enough!
