The DAISY Nurse Leader Award is a powerful way to honor the extraordinary impact of our nursing leaders. The award gives our nursing teams, CNOs, and other senior leadership, as well as others a way to express their gratitude for the compassionate environment the nursing leaders provide and for all that they do. A nurse leader role combines essential nursing, business, program development, and leadership skills developed through ongoing learning. Staff members share that this year’s Honoree is the epitome of a servant leader. Our leadership recognizes her skill of bringing staff together through positive communication and mutual respect. She models the Mission and Values of Providence. As a leader, she is actively involved in program meetings, helping with newsletters, and education. That is why this year’s Honoree is Joe Schmidt.
