I would like to recognize Joe for his exceptional skills at providing trouble-free IVs, which save both the clinicians and the patient from having to silence the pump due to it getting pinched. He not only has the respect of his peers for his exceptional skills, but he also has an awesome bedside manner when working with his patients. In my 55 years, I have never had more carefree IVs and I have had two of them from him; heck, I never even knew that starting them with ultrasound was even a thing. I know it must be burdensome for everyone to keep hollering for Joe to start an IV for them, but he needs to know how important this skill is. Not to take anything away from the exceptional care that I received from all of the clinicians who cared for me, Joe just had me drop my jaw in awe of how he confidently entered the room and installed the IVs without showing signs of worry or indecisiveness. He did his thing with the IV and it was outstanding; thus, I penned the below to commemorate my respect for what he does.
