Joe Roach, RN

What can you say about Joe? I’m sure a lot of people could throw out a lot of adjectives, but they would not all fit on this paper! As a long-term CJW employee and a short-term cancer patient, I have been seeing both sides recently. Nurse and patient! In a time that could be scary, overwhelming and disheartening, Joe not only makes it bearable, but he makes it “fun”. That’s a word you wouldn’t think you would feel as you are getting slowly poisoned by chemo, but it’s how Joe makes it. Between letting me play music, making jokes, telling his own personal stories, listen to him banter with the other staff, he has made this a bearable experience! To have Joe be able to celebrate the ringing of my bell and cry with me will always be a memory in my heart! Thanks, Joe!
