Last week I was lead in MSU unit and being a relief charge RN most of the time my workload can be overwhelming for me. But having nurses like Joel can really make the work less stressful. For two days in a row, Joel was one of the nurses. Our floor was really busy on both days, but every time I asked Joel for something he would politely do everything with a smile. He even helped me with some tasks I needed to do. His demeanor was always pleasant, and it was very contagious. There was one patient who called me just to express how grateful she was for the care she received from Joel. There was one visitor who came upset over something, and Joel took time to sit and talk to the visitor with his genuine concern, and I felt that the visitor went home at peace. Joel was always helpful to everyone, to the staff, and to the patients, even though some were not his patients. He always treats everyone with kindness. He is a great nurse with a very kind heart.
