I chose to wait until VAST service was available to restart my 5th IV on my stay. I was apprehensive about what would happen if another IV blew. Around 0700 Joel Payne entered the room. He took his time assessing me and the site choices. He took his time, assessed every angle even through our conversation. He confidentially moved forward while still acquiring pertinent information. Joel not only maintained focus but explored a vein to use, then told me why it was not the right one. He moved on and used another vein saying he wanted to be sure the best vein was used. Joel continued to listen to my history as well as possible needs in the future. While I questioned tube placement, he explained my options.
