Jo took the time with my mother and me to listen, answer questions and explain all that was going on in great detail.
My mother was in the hospital for 13 days. This was a very scary, stressful situation not only for my mother but also for the family. We did not know it at the time, but this was the last two weeks of my mother's life. To say that Jo was an angel in disguise is an understatement. The patience, compassion, and kindness she showed to all of us will never be forgotten. It didn't matter what she was doing, Jo took the time with my mother and me to listen, answer questions and explain all that was going on in great detail. Jo was the one who informed us about palliative care, which was a God send. Without that information, my mother and family would have been lost. Eventually, palliative care set us up with Homeland Hospice. Through Jo, palliative care, and Hospice, my mother was able to spend the last few days of her life surrounded by the people who loved her the most and in the comfort of her home. My mother was there when I took my first breath and I was holding my mother's hand as she took her last breath. Jo, you made that possible for me. I will be eternally grateful to you.
