October 2024 Honoree
Joey McClure, RN
My son, C, is in a long term stay recovery from several strokes and preparing for an open heart surgery to replace a valve. This is due to my son's history of drug abuse. Joey was the first nurse he saw after moving from ICU to a regular room. While EVERY nurse has been awesome, Joey is very special. She has a connection with my son's situation, and she treats C as if he is her child and makes us feel as if he is her only patient. C's situation is urgent and was critical, and she provided him with comfort, care, love, and non-judgmental compassion. She has a true calling, and God has placed her in C's life. Her inspiration and encouragement are the reason that we are fighting for a recovery.
Thank you, Joey, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
