One can only imagine
what it must feel like to
go from showing up for
work as a seasoned nurse
day in and day out to
becoming a patient. One
of John Chin’s patients
was about to experience
just that, but knowing she was under
the care of a skilled nurse made all the
difference. “One of the worst things about
being a patient is the not knowing,” the
patient said. But John eased her mind by
paying close attention to every detail and
thoroughly explaining what to expect.
“He went above and beyond, talking to my
family and making sure we were informed
… We all became his patients – not just
me – and that is a special skill for a nurse
to have,” she said.
